Children's Choice Therapy

• What they offer / teach

Specialist occupational therapy and sensory integration services, including assessments, treatment and training, delivered independently in homes, schools, clinics, health and social care settings and at their own specialist centre in Needwood, Staffordshire. The centre has training facilities, group work space and a full sensory integration based occupational therapy treatment room built with sensory equipment provider 'Spacekraft'. They also run holiday sessions such as weekly fine motor skills sessions and sensory play sessions where parents stay with their children, and provide training for parents and carers.

• Ages served

The page refers to children and young people, and to individuals in special and mainstream schools, but no specific age range is stated.

• Approach

Programmes are individually tailored to each child or young person, using fun games, activities, crafts and learning tools appropriate to the individual, and are underpinned by theoretical and researched knowledge. Rather than relying on one approach, they combine a mix of skills and practices to work towards chosen goals, for example sensory, motor, behavioural, neurodevelopmental or compensatory. They also work with parents and carers to embed treatment principles learnt at the centre into daily life.

• Admissions

The page invites people who know a child needing help to thrive to get in touch, and gives a phone number (07566 811 845) and email (fiona.wallwork@childrenschoicetherapy.co.uk); no formal admissions or referral process is described.
