Clarkston Speech and Language Therapy

• What they offer / teach

Holistic assessment of a child's communication skills followed by a jointly planned therapy journey, delivered either directly with the child or by coaching families to support their child's communication. They also specialise in Autism Assessments for children and young people, and offer a resources section ('hints, tips & useful bits'). Sessions take place at their bespoke clinic at 101 Busby Road, Clarkston, East Renfrewshire.

• Ages served

The page states that Autism Assessments are provided for children and young people aged 3-18 years; it otherwise refers generally to children, young people and their families.

• Approach

Family-centred and holistic, with the child and family at the centre of care and therapy tailored to each child as a unique individual, so involvement differs for every family. The founder, Lyndsay Dickson, has a BSc Honours in Speech and Language Pathology from Strathclyde University, 25 years of NHS clinical experience, HCPC registration, and membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice.

• Admissions

Families are invited to contact the practice by phone or email to book an appointment. For Autism Assessment, a free 10-minute phone call or online consultation can be arranged to discuss whether assessment is the right path.

• Cost

The page says fees 'have been designed to suit you and your family' and links to a Fees section, and that a 10-minute phone call or online consultation about Autism Assessment is free; no specific prices are given.
