• What they offer / teach

The Donaldson Trust describes itself as the National Body for Neurodiversity and provides a range of services and support to neurodivergent children, young people and adults, including its Sensational Learning Centre in Linlithgow, West Lothian and its Vibe service. It also delivers neurodiversity training, consultancy and advice to organisations seeking to create neuro-inclusive environments, and works to influence public policy affecting neurodivergent people and their families. Learning described on the site includes life and independence skills such as planning journeys and using public transport, ordering food and making purchases, alongside building confidence, wellbeing and friendships.

• Ages served

The site states that services support neurodivergent children, young people and adults, and refers to pupils at the Sensational Learning Centre, but no specific age range is given.

• Approach

The organisation emphasises values-led, neuro-inclusive support, creating welcoming spaces where every pupil can feel safe, understood and supported, and encouraging young people to progress at a pace that feels right for them. Its Sensational Learning Centre supports neurodivergent children and young people who face challenges in traditional mainstream education settings, with a focus on confidence, independence, reducing anxiety in new environments and social connection. The Trust also promotes the message that there is 'no wrong path' and that potential should not be measured by academic results alone.
